Chitra Budha, the owner of ‘Sur and Supunna Organic hotel in Guthi Chaur, Jumla, has been honored with the Young Chef Award. Having worked as a chef in countries like Qatar, Dubai, and Bahrain for nearly 10 years, the young entrepreneur from Jumla is now running his own hotel business in his hometown. He was awarded the ‘Global Nepali Chef Award 2025.’
At a ceremony, former Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi presented the award, praising Chef Budha’s contribution in sharing the knowledge and skills he learned abroad and bringing many Nepali people into the culinary field.
Chef Budha runs a hotel in Jumla that exclusively offers local dishes. Recently, he has been providing chef training to those interested in starting hotel businesses in Jumla’s various markets, including the district headquarters.
Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Chef Budha shared that he feels fortunate to be honored as a young chef based on his experience working both domestically and internationally. He emphasized that by respecting one’s work and staying honest and dedicated, success will eventually follow, and encouraged others to pursue their professions with sincerity.
