The trading day opened at 2,687.69, with the NEPSE index hitting an intraday high of 2,687.68 before dipping to a low of 2,653.74. Despite the drop, the market saw a relatively high level of activity, with a total turnover of Rs. 7.57 Arba. Throughout the day, 18,477,703 shares of 308 listed companies were traded in 64,140 transactions.

Among the sectoral indices, the Hotel and Tourism Index experienced a notable decline. The index opened at 6,555.98, saw an intraday high of 6,565.98, and dipped to a low of 6,460.75 before closing.

This consistent drop in the Hotel and Tourism sector could be indicative of investor concerns regarding short-term industry performance, potentially tied to fluctuating tourist inflows or broader economic uncertainties. Market analysts suggest that current trends point toward cautious investor sentiment, and upcoming economic indicators or corporate earnings could play a decisive role in shaping the market’s next direction.
