A small plane crashed into two houses in Simi Valley, California, on Saturday afternoon, killing two people onboard and a house pet. According to CNN, the incident occurred at approximately 2:10 PM local time.
Upon impact, a fire broke out at the site. Despite the fire, residents inside the homes were safely evacuated, and the Ventura County Fire Department quickly brought the flames under control.
Simi Valley Police reported that there were no survivors aboard the plane. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed that the four-seat single-engine aircraft had taken off from Lancaster’s William J. Fox Airport, heading towards Camarillo Airport. The FAA is currently investigating the incident.
