Ten teams have advanced to the final round of the “Tourism Project Showcase–Koshi” competition, selected during the preliminary event held on Saturday in Kathmandu. Finalists include teams from Nepal Engineering College, Pulchowk Campus, Acme Engineering College, and Khwopa Engineering College, with projects covering agro-villages, mountain tourism, homestays, rafting, tea tourism, and more.

The judging panel, consisting of tourism and academic experts, evaluated entries based on innovation, creativity, technical feasibility, economic and environmental impact, and tourism-friendliness. Top teams will now be mentored and sent to the field for further research.

The final exhibition and competition will take place on May 22 (Jestha 9) at G Ramayana Hotel, Thamel, with participation from tourism professionals, investors, and officials. Winners will receive cash prizes of Rs. 100,000, Rs. 50,000, and Rs. 25,000 respectively, along with medals and gift hampers. Organized by Elison Hospitality with support from the Koshi Province Government and Nepal Tourism Board, the competition aims to explore and promote new tourism opportunities in Koshi Province.
