Nepal’s Dr. Sumi Malla Honored with Two Titles at Mrs. Tourism Queen International 2025 in Thailand

In a remarkable representation of Nepal on the global stage, Dr. Sumi Malla, a distinguished dental surgeon by profession, brought home not one but two honors from the Mrs. Tourism Queen International 2025 pageant. Held on May 1 (Baishakh 18) in Bangkok, the prestigious international event featured contestants from 25 countries. Dr. Malla was crowned Second Runner-Up and also received the distinguished Mrs. Inspirational award, a recognition of her inspiring presence, strength, and poise.

Known for her elegance and charisma, Dr. Malla had earlier secured the Mrs. Vogue Nepal title, earning her the opportunity to represent Nepal in this global competition. With her commanding 5’8” presence, she delivered a standout performance that caught the attention of the international judges and audience alike.

Reflecting on her journey, Dr. Malla shared, “The main title may have gone to the contestant from Russia, but I am deeply proud of my own accomplishments. Competing among so many talented women and earning recognition for both my inspiration and performance was a fulfilling achievement. Wearing the crown as a Nepali contestant made the moment even more special.”

The event, which celebrated married women for their achievements, inner beauty, and ability to inspire change, gave Dr. Malla an opportunity to share stories about Nepal’s rich culture and tourism. “Being introduced as ‘Mrs. Nepal’ and responding to the curiosity about my country’s tourism truly elevated my pride. It reminded me how important cultural exchange is in such global platforms,” she said. The platform also offered global visibility to Nepal’s evolving fashion and beauty industry, something House of Fashion Nepal the organizing body behind Mrs. Vogue Nepal played a key role in.

Founder and director Oshima Banu praised Dr. Malla’s performance, stating, “Her strength, grace, and unwavering confidence made Nepal proud. Dr. Malla is not only a beauty queen but also a symbol of power and inspiration.” Banu emphasized that Dr. Malla’s achievement is more than a personal victory. “This crown represents her resilience and journey. She has touched countless lives, showing women everywhere the importance of believing in themselves and breaking boundaries. We are thrilled by this milestone and look forward to her continued success.”

Dr. Malla’s grooming and training were supported by House of Fashion Nepal’s expert team, ensuring her readiness to compete at the highest level. Her success is seen as a combination of natural elegance, strong public speaking, and deep commitment to representing Nepal’s image with dignity.

At a press event following the pageant, House of Fashion Nepal also announced the third season of ‘Mrs. Vogue Nepal – 2026’, which will take place in January. The competition is open to all married Nepali women, offering a platform to express their talents, confidence, and leadership.

Dr. Sumi Malla’s journey from a celebrated dental professional to a global pageant star illustrates the broad horizons Nepali women are now embracing. Her success story reaffirms Nepal’s emerging presence in international cultural and beauty forums, and her message continues to inspire women to dream beyond boundaries.
