With an emphasis on boosting domestic travel in western Nepal, tourism entrepreneurs in Sauraha, a well-liked tourist destination in Chitwan, have restarted the “Let’s Visit Sauraha” campaign. According to Om Prakash Pandey, president of the Regional Hotel Association Chitwan, the campaign, which was first started in eastern Nepal four years ago, was put on hold but has since been relaunched in cooperation with the local government.

Through increased vibrancy and visitor numbers, the campaign seeks to further enhance Sauraha and Chitwan’s tourism profile. The Ratnanagar Municipality, the Ratnanagar Tourism Promotion Committee, and other tourism-related organizations are working together to carry it out.

Yadav Prasad Pathak, the Deputy Mayor of Ratnanagar, formally sent off a group of local officials, businesspeople, and environmentalists who had started their journey from Sauraha. Through promotional interactions and press conferences, the campaign will reach important cities and tourist destinations in the provinces of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim, including Nepalgunj, Bhairahawa, Bardiya, Surkhet, Mahendranagar, and Kanchanpur.

The association’s vice-president and campaign coordinator, Gunaraj Thapaliya, stated that the objective is to double Sauraha’s visitor count. Additionally, branding initiatives for Sauraha tourism have started, according to Bheshraj Duwadi, chairperson of the Tourism Promotion Committee.
