The Consulate General of Nepal in Guangzhou, China, successfully organized a Nepal Tourism Promotion Program under the theme “Experience Nepal: A Journey Through Nature, Culture, and Adventure” on May 14, 2025. The event was held in celebration of the 70th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Nepal and China and conjunction with the “Visit Nepal Year” campaign.

The program featured a vibrant B2B networking session aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the tourism industries of both countries. Travel and tour operators, hoteliers, and tourism professionals from Nepal and China engaged in discussions to explore partnership opportunities and promote Nepal as a preferred travel destination for Chinese tourists.

The event was graced by the Consul General of Nepal in Guangzhou, Mr. Bharat Khanal, and Mr. Zhaa Wenzhi, President of the Guangdong Travel Service Association. Senior representatives from the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), including Mr. Santosh Panta, Senior Director, and Mr. Robin Regmi, Senior Officer, were also present to highlight Nepal’s unique tourism offerings from adventure and nature to cultural heritage. The program welcomed over 105 participants, including government officials, Chinese tourism stakeholders, and representatives from travel agencies, airlines, hotels, the sports industry, and hospitality-related organizations.

It provided a timely platform for Nepali delegates who are set to participate in the Guangzhou International Tourism Fair 2025, scheduled from May 15 to 17. Through cultural presentations, promotional materials, and interactive exchanges, the event underscored Nepal’s appeal as a safe, diverse, and enriching destination ideal for nature lovers, cultural explorers, and adventure seekers alike. The initiative also reaffirmed the deep-rooted friendship between Nepal and China, with tourism identified as a key area of mutual growth and cooperation.
