Pokhara-based tourism entrepreneurs have arrived in Chitwan to promote the upcoming 27th Pokhara Street Festival, set to take place along the Fewa Lake waterfront from Poush 13 to 17, 2082. The promotional tour, which included stops in Itahari, Biratnagar, and Janakpur, aims to attract both domestic and international tourists to participate in the festival.

Festival to Boost Winter Tourism and Visit Year 2025
Basanta Gautam, coordinator of the festival, stated that the event is designed to rejuvenate the tourism sector, which typically slows down during the winter season. Organized jointly by Pokhara Metropolitan City and REBAN Pokhara, the festival is expected to complement Pokhara Visit Year 2025 and create an attractive environment for foreign tourists during Christmas and the New Year.
Diverse Programs Planned for Visitors
The festival will feature a culinary festival, cultural programs, adventure and sports activities, and educational promotional events. Organizers have arranged accommodations with a capacity of 40,000 beds in local hotels to host visitors, aiming to attract up to 500,000 tourists during the event. Gautam emphasized that the festival seeks to revive tourism momentum that slowed down after the Janandolan (people’s movement) and provide tangible support to local businesses.

Cross-District Tourism to Boost Local Economy
The promotional initiative highlighted the benefits of encouraging tourists to move between districts. By attracting visitors from one district to another, both regions can experience economic growth, and the festival’s promotion strategy aims to achieve exactly that.
