Pauwa Group has announced the launch of new resorts and hotels in Sindhuli and Khotang, marking a significant expansion in Nepal’s hospitality industry. The company revealed the details at a press conference today.
Pauwa Group, known for its slogan “Where Hospitality Begins,” has inaugurated two new establishments: Pauwa Resort in Khotang’s Halesi and Pauwa Hotel along the banks of the Sun Koshi River in Sindhuli. The new ventures represent an investment of NPR 1 billion, with NPR 500 million allocated for the 45 ropanis of land in Sindhuli, and over NPR 400 million for the Halesi resort.
The hospitality sector in Nepal is experiencing rapid growth, with a surge in hotels, resorts, and chains. Pauwa Group plans to contribute significantly to this trend with its ambitious goal of opening 100 hotels within the next decade. The company is also investing NPR 1 billion in a five-star hotel in Nepalgunj and has plans to introduce its brand to international markets shortly.
Chairman Durga Prasad Bhandari emphasized the company’s mission to elevate Nepal’s tourism industry through its “Mission 100” initiative. He stated, “We have been investing in the tourism sector for the past eight years. Mulkoṭ in Sindhuli, located just 90 kilometers from Kathmandu, is an ideal destination for tourists, offering a serene environment along the Sun Koshi River. Similarly, the Halesi resort targets both domestic and international religious tourists, given the area’s significance as a confluence of Kirat, Buddhist, and Hindu traditions. From this resort, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Halesi region.”
Pauwa’s Managing Director, Bishnu Gyawali, highlighted the company’s commitment to promoting Nepal’s unique hospitality culture globally. In addition to the new resorts, Pauwa has expanded its investments in various regions, including Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Dang, Jumla, Palpa, Gulmi, and more. Notably, the company is developing a five-star hotel, Pauwa Western, in Nepalgunj, the main gateway for the Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage.
Pauwa operates under three models: direct investment and ownership, institutional partnerships with local stakeholders, and management contracts under the Pauwa brand. This diversified approach aims to enhance service delivery and expand its reach across Nepal.
