NATTA Lumbini Province Launches Tour Product Development Training

The Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) Lumbini Province has officially launched the Tour Product Development Training Program today at Hotel Sunstar, Bhairahawa. Scheduled to continue until April 11, 2026, the program aims to equip tourism professionals with advanced skills in designing and enhancing tour products, boosting the overall competitiveness of the tourism sector in Lumbini Province.

Organized in collaboration with the Sustainable Tourism Project (STP), a joint initiative by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and UNDP Nepal, the training underscores the growing focus on sustainable and community-driven tourism practices.

Inauguration Highlights and Key Guests

The program’s inauguration was graced by Mr. Istiyaq Ahmed Khan, Mayor of Siddharthanagar Municipality, Rupandehi, who welcomed the participants and emphasized the critical role such training plays in strengthening tourism in the province. “Developing innovative and sustainable tour products is key to attracting more visitors and ensuring long-term growth in the tourism sector,” the Mayor remarked.

The Chief Guest of the session, Mr. Shyam Kishor Sah, General Manager of Gautam Buddha International Airport, highlighted the importance of skill development for tourism operators, noting that well-trained professionals can significantly enhance the visitor experience and promote the region as a prime destination.

Mr. Chandra Bahadur Thapa, President of NATTA Lumbini Province, delivered the welcome address and formally inaugurated the program, stressing the association’s commitment to fostering professional development within the tourism industry. Mr. Bijaya Rijal, Executive Member of NATTA Central, also participated in the program, representing the national body and showing support for provincial-level capacity-building initiatives.
