Radisson Hotel Group has reported strong global expansion during the first half of 2026, announcing the signing and opening of 160 hotels comprising more than 22,000 rooms (keys) as the international hospitality company continues to strengthen its presence across major global tourism and business destinations.
The impressive growth reflects increasing investor confidence in the company’s diverse hotel portfolio and the continued recovery and expansion of the global hospitality industry. The group’s latest achievements include new hotel signings, market entries, luxury brand expansions, resort developments, and sustainable hospitality initiatives across Europe, the Middle East, Africa (EMEA), and the Asia-Pacific region.

Strong Global Growth Across Multiple Hotel Segments
According to Radisson Hotel Group, the company’s expansion strategy during the first six months of 2026 has been driven by demand for branded hospitality across luxury, lifestyle, upscale, resort, conversion, and mixed-use developments. The company stated that the continued momentum demonstrates owners’ confidence in Radisson’s brands, operational expertise, and long-term ability to deliver strong financial returns while meeting the evolving expectations of travelers worldwide.
Europe Records Major Milestones
Europe remained one of Radisson’s strongest-performing regions during the period, with several landmark signings and openings. Among the major developments were the signing of the Radisson Collection Hotel Frankfurt and Radisson RED Vienna Danube Riverside, alongside new hotel openings in Austria, Germany, and Poland.
The company also expanded its resort portfolio by launching new properties in Tenerife and Phuket, while its Radisson Individuals brand continued to grow in Spain and Greece. The lifestyle-focused Radisson RED brand entered several new markets, making its debut in New Zealand, the Philippines, and Türkiye, while Radisson Collection strengthened its presence in premium leisure destinations, including Lake Como, Italy.

Sustainability Initiatives Continue to Expand
Radisson Hotel Group also announced further progress in its sustainability agenda through the expansion of its Verified Net Zero (VNZ) programme. Over the coming months, ten additional hotels across Norway, Denmark, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the programme’s first participating property in South Africa are expected to join the initiative. The company also celebrated a culinary milestone after Les Loges, the signature restaurant at Cour des Loges Lyon, A Radisson Collection Hotel, received its first Michelin Star just ten months after reopening.
Middle East and Africa Continue Rapid Growth
The hospitality group further strengthened its presence across the Middle East and Africa with several strategic hotel openings.
Among the highlights were:
- Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Barsha Heights
- Radisson Collection Residences, Riyadh
- Radisson Blu Hotel, Almaty Airport
Meanwhile, Africa crossed an important milestone, with more than 100 Radisson hotels either operating or under development across the continent. The company noted that Radisson has remained the most-signed hotel brand within its segment across EMEA and Southeast Asia Pacific since 2019, reflecting sustained confidence from hotel owners and investors.

Asia-Pacific Expansion Gains Momentum
Asia-Pacific continues to play a central role in Radisson Hotel Group’s long-term growth strategy, supported by rising travel demand, expanding middle-class populations, improving infrastructure, and growing investor confidence. China remains one of the company’s largest development markets, with over 260 hotels currently in operation across its Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Park Inn by Radisson, and Radisson RED brands.
Development activity remains particularly strong in major Chinese cities such as Beijing, Wuhan, and Chongqing, while the company is also expanding into emerging Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4 cities to capitalize on the country’s robust domestic tourism market. In Southeast Asia, LIME Resort Bohol, operating under Radisson Individuals Premier, marked the brand’s debut in the region. In Australasia, the opening of Radisson RED Auckland represented both the company’s first hotel in New Zealand and the first Radisson RED property in the broader Australasian market.
India Emerges as a Strategic Growth Engine
India has become one of Radisson Hotel Group’s fastest-growing markets and a central pillar of its future expansion plans. During the first half of 2026, the company signed and opened 22 hotels across India, increasing its development pipeline to nearly 100 hotels. Currently, Radisson operates 142 hotels with more than 15,500 rooms across 86 Indian cities, making it one of the country’s largest international hotel operators. The company recently unveiled its ambitious India Vision 2030 strategy, which aims to expand its Indian portfolio to 500 hotels over the next five years.
India Offers Exceptional Growth Opportunities
Commenting on the company’s performance, Elie Younes, Executive Vice President and Global Chief Development Officer at Radisson Hotel Group, described India as one of the world’s most promising hotel development markets. He said demand for quality accommodation continues to outpace supply while rapid infrastructure development and strong investor confidence are creating significant long-term opportunities for hotel expansion. According to Younes, Radisson’s established presence, strong brand recognition, and experienced workforce position the company to capitalize on India’s rapidly growing tourism and hospitality sector. He also emphasized that the company remains committed to creating long-term value for hotel owners, guests, investors, and employees through continued investment in its brands and people.
