The Hotels and Tourism Index recorded a sharp decline in today’s trading session, falling 167.84 points, or 2.21%, to close at 7,374.56. The sectoral index had gained 32.00 points in the previous trading session. It opened at 7,509.82 and fluctuated between an intraday high of 7,535.21 and a low of 7,365.93 before settling at the day’s closing level.

NEPSE Falls 33.28 Points
The overall Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) also witnessed a significant decline, dropping 33.28 points, or 1.21%, to close at 2,701.32.

The benchmark sector had gained 7.88 points in the previous trading session. It opened at 2,716.42 and reached an intraday high of 2,744.89 before falling to a low of 2,693.03 during the session.

Rs 6.08 Billion Turnover Recorded
Total turnover stood at Rs 6.08 billion, with 13,925,337 shares changing hands through 69,803 transactions. Shares of 360 companies were traded during the session. The total market capitalisation stood at Rs 46.42 trillion, while the float market capitalisation stood at Rs 15.67 trillion. The broad-based decline in the benchmark index and the sharp fall in the Hotels and Tourism Index reflected a weak trading session for Nepal’s stock market.
