Nepal Wins “Best Travel-Friendly Destination” at Global Tourism Awards 2024

Nepal has been honored with the “Best Travel-Friendly Destination” title at the Global Tourism Awards 2024. The award was presented to Nepal from among numerous nominations by various countries.

The accolade was given during an event held on August 2, 2024, in New Delhi, India, organized by Travel World Online (TWO). The award ceremony recognized Nepal as a top destination for travelers, showcasing its commitment to being a safe and traveler-friendly location.

Hikmat Singh Aire, Acting Executive Director of the Nepal Tourism Board, accepted the award on behalf of Nepal. He expressed that the honor would help spread the message that Nepal is a safe and welcoming destination for tourists, contributing to the overall promotion of Nepal’s tourism industry.

“We are proud to receive this award. The Nepal Tourism Board extends heartfelt thanks to all our partners and stakeholders who contributed to this achievement. We also invite tourists to experience Nepal’s diverse tourism offerings and Nepalese hospitality,” Aire stated.

He also committed to maintaining Nepal’s esteemed status and continually working towards enhancing it. The awards ceremony acknowledged individuals and organizations for their significant contributions to excellence and innovation in the tourism industry.

Among other honorees were Best Wellness Resort (Kairali Ayurveda Village) from India, Best Inbound Operator (Creative Travel) from India, Best International Tourism Board (Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau), Best Emerging International Tourism Destination (Azerbaijan Tourism), Best Domestic Tour Operator (Southern Travel) from India, and Best Sustainable State (Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board).

The event saw participation from key stakeholders, industry leaders, government representatives, and media personnel.
