Acharya Krishna Damai Delivers Sermon at Kotihom Mahayagya in Pashupati Area

Acharya Krishna Damai delivered a profound sermon at the Kotihom Mahayagya organized by the Manav Sewa Foundation in the sacred Pashupati area today.

Acharya Damai, who hails from Baitadi and holds a Master’s degree in Sanskrit, was honored by Balayogeshwar Vijaya Krishnamurti Maharaj, the architect of the Mahayagya, who seated him on the Vyasa Peeth (the seat of the sage). During his sermon, Acharya Krishna expressed deep gratitude towards his respected teachers, stating, “People often speak of reaching heaven, but for me, I feel heaven at the feet of our nation’s deity, Lord Pashupatinath. I have truly experienced the bliss of heaven.”

Acharya Krishna emphasized the importance of Sanskrit education and the study of the Vedas for people of all castes and communities. “After participating in this Kotihom, the belief that everyone, including the Dalit community, should study Sanskrit and the Vedas has been further strengthened. I never imagined that I would be seated on the Vyasa Peeth and speaking in such a sacred place,” he remarked.

He further highlighted the need for a united effort to protect Sanatan Dharma and its cultural values, warning against divisive forces that aim to weaken the tradition. “There is a conspiracy to divide us and undermine the values of Sanatan Dharma. Therefore, we must remain united for the sake of Hinduism and Sanatan Dharma. To preserve Hindu culture and build a civilized society, it is essential to join the Sanskrit movement. Everyone must rise from their positions and take action,” he urged.

Vijaya Krishnamurti, the founder of the Manav Sewa Foundation and the architect of the Kotihom Mahayagya, declared that a new era has begun in Nepal. “We have honored Krishna, who has achieved the title of Acharya from a Damai family, by placing him on the Vyasa Peeth, and we feel proud. He delivered a highly impactful sermon. This is a significant revolution against untouchability. Not only in words but also in actions, social discrimination must be eradicated. This marks the beginning of a new era and a new revolution,” he stated.

The event revealed that over 2.5 million devotees have participated in the Kotihom Mahayagya so far, which will continue throughout the month of Shrawan. Daily rituals include sermons from 8 AM to 7 PM, along with Rudri Path, 18 Purana recitations, 108 Shrimad Bhagavat recitations, and Saptachandi Path.
