Shrawan Mela 2081: A Grand Celebration of Culture and Devotion

The Biggest Mehendi Bhela: Shrawan Mela 2081, a vibrant two-day event organized by Classics Projects, took place on August 2nd and 3rd at Hotel Annapurna, Durbarmarg. This grand celebration was designed to honor the colorful and joyous festivities of Shrawan, the holiest month in the Hindu calendar, where women devote themselves to Lord Shiva, seeking his blessings for prosperity and the fulfillment of their desires.

Drawing a crowd of over 2,000 attendees, the event successfully brought together men and women from various communities, creating a lively and inclusive atmosphere. The organizers were committed to preserving the spiritual essence of Shrawan, ensuring that the event adhered to traditional practices.

Vegetarian food stalls were set up, and a strict no-alcohol and no-smoking policy was enforced, promoting the sanctity of the divine month. A larger-than-life Shiva Linga was placed at the center of the venue, symbolizing the heart of the celebration and allowing attendees to seek blessings.

The event was inaugurated by former Miss Nepal, Ishani Shrestha, and hosted by Khushboo Pradhan, with various celebrities and social media influencers gracing the occasion. Shrawan Mela beautifully captured the essence of Nepalese-Hindu culture, tradition, and spirituality, with vibrant décor and photo booths reflecting the elements of Shrawan, providing attendees with a picturesque backdrop for their memories.

As the event aimed to create the largest Mehendi Bhela, over 10 Mehendi artists were present, offering intricate henna designs to both women and men. Mehendi, a beloved tradition during Shrawan, was a highlight of the event, with participants eagerly adorning their hands with the beautiful red and brown stains.

All aspects of the Shrawan festival were thoughtfully incorporated into the event, including the provision of vegetarian dishes, and respect for the fasting practices of many women during this month. Over 36 stalls were set up, offering a variety of ethnic wear, jewelry, and accessories, adding to the cultural richness of the mela.

Shrawan Mela 2081 not only celebrated the religious significance of the month but also created a vibrant space for cultural exchange, making it a memorable event for all who attended.
