The Tourism Entrepreneur Women Association Nepal (TEWAN) conducted a two-day (AI) and digital marketing workshop, for women tourism entrepreneurs, in Pokhara on October 10-11, 2026. The event aimed to empower 45 female tourism business owners to improve their digital skills and promote their business.
The TEWAN, in collaboration with United Community Nepal and Swisscontact Nepal, organized the program under the theme “Equal Participation for Sustainable Tourism” at Temple Bell Boutique Hotel and Spa. The participants learned about the role of digital marketing and AI in promoting tourism products and services to meet the growing demand in the cutthroat market.

AI and Digital Marketing in Tourism
The participants learned the significance of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital marketing to scale their tourism business, increase their visibility, and reach new customers. During the workshop, the attendees were trained on leveraging technology to promote their tourism business and products while meeting the evolving needs of customers. In his capacity as a digital marketer and co-founder of ARK Vision Academy, Rahul Sapkota facilitated the program. He advised the participants on utilizing digital platforms to market their business, meet customer needs, and stay ahead of the competition by adopting emerging digital technologies.

TEWAN Invests in Women’s Empowerment
The TEWAN president, Shova Neupane Pandey, explained that they organized the two-day program to create a platform where women tourism entrepreneurs could network and learn new technologies to promote their business. Mrs. Pandey further stated that the adoption of AI and digital marketing would enable them to make their promotional strategies more effective, reach out to targeted customers, and ensure they remained relevant in the tourism sector. She added that the program enabled women tourism entrepreneurs to become more empowered, competitive, and responsive to the increasing demand for digital technologies in marketing their products and services.

Building Inclusive and Sustainable Tourism through Equal Participation
The workshop coordinator and TEWAN general secretary, Shova Adhikari Poudel, said the event sought to create awareness among female tourism entrepreneurs on the need for adopting digital technology in their businesses. She further expounded that they partnered with United Community Nepal and Swisscontact Nepal to empower the women tourism business owners and promote gender equality.
The three organizations believed that equal participation would lead to sustainable tourism development and create room for generating income through tourism. The two-day event ended on October 11, 2026, with the participants gaining insight into how AI and digital marketing could help them increase the visibility of their tourism business, market their products more effectively, and become more competitive.
