Tourist Activity Picks Up in Langtang as Transport Access Improves

Tourist activity has started picking up in the Langtang region of Rasuwa following improvements in road connectivity, with the operation of a temporary Bailey bridge over the Falakhu River at Betrawati making travel to the popular trekking destination easier. The improved transportation access has encouraged both domestic and international tourists to visit the Langtang area, bringing renewed optimism among local tourism entrepreneurs who had faced disruptions in recent months.

Local Tourism Entrepreneurs Welcome Return of Visitors

Nima Lama, operator of Hotel Mountain View in Langtang, said the number of domestic and foreign tourists visiting the area has increased since the Bailey bridge was brought into operation at Falakhu. According to Lama, the restoration of transportation has provided greater confidence to tourism businesses and local communities dependent on tourism. Hotels and other tourism-related businesses in the region have prepared to welcome visitors as trekking activity gradually returns to normal.

Two-Day Trek from Dhunche and Syabrubesi

Langtang can be reached after approximately two days of trekking from either Dhunche, the district headquarters, or Syabrubesi. From Dhunche, trekkers can follow the route through Thulo Bharkhu and Sano Bharkhu, Brabal, Thulo Syabru, Pahiro, Bamboo, Rimche, and Lama Hotel before reaching Langtang. The route offers trekkers a combination of mountain scenery, forests, rivers, and traditional settlements as they make their way toward the Langtang Valley.

October and November Ideal for Langtang Visit

Lama said October and November are among the most favourable months for visiting the Langtang region, with local tourism businesses fully prepared to accommodate visitors. “There are currently no problems in the area, and local hotel entrepreneurs are ready to provide hospitality to guests,” Lama said, urging tourists to visit Langtang with confidence and enjoy the region. The improvement in access is expected to support the recovery of tourism activities in Langtang, particularly as the autumn trekking season remains one of the busiest periods for the region.
