Nepal has concluded a series of tourism promotion activities in Bangladesh, combining a destination promotion programme in Dhaka with participation in the 14th Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair (BTTF) 2026. Organised by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) in collaboration with the Embassy of Nepal in Dhaka, the activities took place from October 28 to 31, 2026. The initiative aimed to promote Nepal’s diverse tourism attractions, strengthen bilateral tourism relations and create new business opportunities between the tourism industries of Nepal and Bangladesh. The four day engagement brought together tourism officials, travel agencies, tour operators, hoteliers and other industry representatives to explore cooperation and expand travel connections between the two countries.
Nepal Promotes Its Diverse Tourism Experiences in Bangladesh
The Embassy of Nepal, in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board, organised a destination promotion program titled “Nepal Is Calling: Visit, Explore and Experience” on October 28 in Dhaka. The program highlighted Nepal’s diverse tourism offerings and encouraged greater travel exchanges between the neighboring countries. Ambassador of Nepal to Bangladesh, Ghanshyam Bhandari, described tourism and people to people connections as important pillars of Nepal Bangladesh relations. Emphasizing geographical proximity, cultural similarities and Nepal’s varied tourism products, he encouraged Bangladeshi travelers to visit and experience Nepal.

The ambassador also highlighted the impact of the devastating floods of August 26, 2026, on Nepal’s tourism industry, emphasising the importance of continued tourism promotion alongside recovery efforts. He expressed confidence in the sector’s resilience and its ability to recover. Dr. Nurun Nahar Chowdhury, Secretary of Bangladesh’s Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, attended the program as the chief guest and emphasised stronger tourism cooperation, increased promotional activities, and improved connectivity between the two countries.
B2B Meetings Connect Nepali and Bangladeshi Tourism Entrepreneurs
During the programme, Santosh Kumar Ghimire, Senior Manager at the Nepal Tourism Board, delivered a destination presentation showcasing Nepal’s tourism potential. The presentation covered soft adventure, spiritual, cultural and wellness tourism, alongside MICE tourism, which includes meetings, incentives, conferences and events. Nepal was presented as an attractive year round destination known for its natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, warm hospitality and distinctive travel experiences.

The program also featured business to business (B2B) sessions involving 15 Nepali and 145 Bangladeshi tour operators, travel agencies and hoteliers.
