Suspension Bridge Transforms Connectivity in Rukum East’s Putha Uttarganga

A new suspension bridge, constructed for NPR 13.27 million, has been completed over the Thunne Khola in Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality-2, Pelma, Rukum East. Spanning 338 meters, the bridge now connects Pelma with several nearby settlements, including Tatopani, Him, and Guibang.

The construction of this bridge has significantly shortened travel times for the residents, who previously had to traverse dangerous cliffside paths. With the new bridge, the need to risk their lives on treacherous routes has been eliminated.

This bridge is also part of the Dhorpatan-Dolpa tourist trekking route, further enhancing its importance in boosting local tourism and improving the lives of the residents in these remote areas.
