Nepal to Celebrate 45th World Tourism Day 2024 with Focus on “Tourism and Peace”

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), is all set to host a grand celebration for the 45th World Tourism Day on Friday, September 27, 2024. The event will take place at the Sanskritik Sansthan, commonly known as Rastriya Naach Ghar, in Jamal, Kathmandu, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

With the global theme of “Tourism and Peace,” this year’s celebration aims to highlight the role of tourism in promoting cultural understanding, economic growth, and peaceful global interactions. World Tourism Day is celebrated annually to foster awareness about the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political, and economic values worldwide.

The Nepal Tourism Board and the Ministry have extended a cordial invitation to all stakeholders, including government officials, tourism professionals, entrepreneurs, and the general public, to participate in the event. The program is expected to include speeches from key figures in Nepal’s tourism sector, cultural performances, and discussions on how tourism can continue to contribute to Nepal’s peace and prosperity.

Given Nepal’s growing reputation as a key destination for both adventure and cultural tourism, the celebration will also provide a platform to discuss how the country can further harness tourism to promote peace and development, aligning with global goals set by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

This year’s event is expected to attract a wide range of participants, showcasing Nepal’s commitment to sustainable tourism and its potential to serve as a beacon of peace in the region.
