The Lumbini Province government has introduced a strategic concept to make the province self-reliant through tourism. In his message on the occasion of World Tourism Day, Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya announced the launch of the ‘Travel Lumbini’ initiative, aimed at transforming Lumbini into a self-sufficient region by leveraging tourism opportunities.
Chief Minister Acharya emphasized that the plan focuses on income generation by tapping into the province’s rich tourism potential. He stated, “The Lumbini Province government views tourism as a key driver to improve the living standards of its citizens.”
As part of this initiative, the government is actively working on the construction of the Lumbini Tourism Circuit, which will connect and promote key tourist destinations across the 12 districts within the province. Chief Minister Acharya also highlighted the significance of Lumbini’s diverse castes, religions, cultures, natural resources, and biodiversity as major pillars for the promotion of tourism in the region.
This comprehensive approach seeks to position Lumbini as a leading tourism hub, contributing to both economic growth and social development for its residents.
