With the improvement in weather conditions, flight operations have resumed at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) as well as eight other airports across the country. According to TIA’s General Manager Jagan Nath Niroula, flights have been permitted under the Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) system until 10 PM tonight.
All internal and international flights from Tribhuvan International Airport are currently operational. Over 400 flights were canceled on Friday and Saturday due to adverse weather conditions.
Typically, TIA handles between 150 to 160 flights daily. Except for Surkhet Airport, flights are now operating from all airports.
Earlier, the authority had suspended all domestic flights from 7 PM on Friday until Saturday afternoon due to the unfavorable weather conditions. The resumption of flights is expected to provide significant relief to travelers and the aviation sector.
