Hyatt Hotels Corporation Expands Its Presence in Nepal with New Hyatt Regency in Lumbini, Partnering with Golyan Group

Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) has announced the addition of a fourth Hyatt-branded property in Nepal through a new management agreement with Veda Hospitality Private Limited, a division of the Golyan Group. This agreement introduces Hyatt Regency Lumbini, a landmark project that reinforces Hyatt’s commitment to growth in Southwest Asia. Scheduled to open by 2028, the property will cater to both international and domestic travelers visiting Lumbini, a UNESCO World Heritage Site revered as the birthplace of Lord Buddha.

Lumbini’s Unique Position as a Cultural and Spiritual Hub

Lumbini, known for its historical and spiritual significance, attracts pilgrims and tourists from around the world. As a UNESCO-listed heritage site, its expansive gardens house numerous sacred and historic landmarks, including the famous Ashoka Pillar, diverse monasteries, and international temples. These landmarks not only celebrate Buddhist heritage but also foster a sense of global unity and cultural exchange.

Prime Location for Easy Accessibility

Nestled on the banks of the scenic Dano River, the Hyatt Regency Lumbini will offer guests easy access to the Mayadevi Temple, a highly visited pilgrimage site, as well as the Gautam Buddha International Airport. Its location close to the Nepal-India border and the city of Butwal provides seamless connectivity for both business and leisure travelers.
