Bagmati Province CM Bahadur Singh Lama Focuses on Agriculture and Tourism for Regional Development

Bagmati Province’s Chief Minister, Bahadur Singh Lama (Tamang), has emphasized that the provincial government is giving special priority to the development of agriculture and tourism sectors as key drivers of economic growth. Speaking at a program organized by the Gorakhnath Kalyan Centre in Thaha Municipality, Makawanpur, on the occasion of Gorakh Samvat 2818, CM Lama highlighted the immense potential of these sectors in contributing to the province’s progress.

The Chief Minister pointed out that Bagmati Province has vast opportunities in agriculture and tourism, and by harnessing these sectors, significant development can be achieved. He underscored the importance of focusing on religious, cultural, and tourism development in the region, particularly emphasizing the need to enhance access to the region’s cultural landmarks.

CM Lama specifically mentioned the Gorkhanath Temple, a key religious and cultural site, and urged the local government to conduct a feasibility study for the improvement of the road leading to the temple. He assured that the provincial government would provide the necessary support for the infrastructure project to boost tourism and enhance the religious and cultural significance of the area.

The event, chaired by the President of Gorakhnath Kalyan Centre, Phaniprasad Regmi, also saw speeches from several prominent figures, including the center’s patron, Anant Prasad Khanal, and Pramod Krishna Joshi, the local chairperson of the Nepali Congress. In addition, CM Lama took the opportunity to honor two local figures, Rajan Dhakal, and Shambhu Singh Karki, for their contributions to the community in social service and the construction industry.

The focus on agriculture and tourism as pillars of development in Bagmati Province reflects the government’s commitment to diversifying the economy and creating sustainable growth opportunities for its residents.
