Advanced Excel Training for Finance Team Underway at NATHM, Kathmandu

The Advanced Excel Training for Finance Team is currently being conducted from 21–23 December 2025 at NATHM, Rabibhawan, Kathmandu. The three-day training program, starting daily at 9:30 AM, has attracted over 30 participants from various tourism and travel industry organizations across Nepal. The program aims to enhance the technical skills of finance professionals in the tourism sector, enabling them to manage financial data and reporting more efficiently.

Inaugural Session Highlights

The training officially commenced with the opening speech by NATTA President, Mr. Kumar Mani Thapaliya, who emphasized the importance of equipping tourism finance teams with advanced Excel skills to improve operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making. He highlighted that robust financial management is key to sustaining growth in Nepal’s tourism and travel industry, particularly in the face of evolving business challenges and increasing competition.

Coordinated by NATTA with Senior Leadership Support

The training program is coordinated by Ms. Shradha Joshi, ensuring smooth execution and effective learning outcomes for all participants. NATTA Secretary General, Ms. Yubika Bhandari, along with other Board Members, was present during the inauguration, reflecting the organization’s commitment to professional capacity building for its members. Their presence also reinforced NATTA’s vision of fostering skill development and promoting excellence in tourism finance management.

Objectives and Training Focus

The Advanced Excel Training focuses on equipping participants with advanced spreadsheet techniques, including financial modeling, pivot tables, data analysis, macros, and reporting functions. The program also aims to enhance participants’ problem-solving abilities when working with large datasets and improve their efficiency in financial documentation and analysis.

Participants from diverse tourism and travel organizations are actively engaging in practical exercises, sharing industry-specific challenges, and applying Excel tools to real-world scenarios. The hands-on approach ensures that the skills learned are immediately transferable to their professional roles.

Expected Outcomes and Impact

By the end of the three-day training, participants are expected to be proficient in advanced Excel functions, data management techniques, and automated reporting processes.
