Anil Kumar Sinha, currently holding the portfolio of Law and Parliamentary Affairs along with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, has been assigned the additional responsibility of Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. He officially assumed charge of the ministry on Sunday, visiting the ministry offices to take over the responsibilities.

Upon assuming office, Minister Sinha approved a new work plan for the “Clean Himalayas” initiative, aiming to enhance environmental cleanliness and sustainable tourism in the Himalayan region. The initiative is expected to focus on waste management, cleanliness drives, and promoting eco-friendly practices in popular trekking and tourist destinations.
Minister Sinha’s additional role signals the government’s intent to strengthen oversight of the tourism sector, particularly in promoting responsible and sustainable practices that align with Nepal’s image as a pristine and environmentally conscious destination.
