Cathay Pacific Airlines will start operating a daily flight between Kathmandu and Hong Kong from March 31. Although Dragon Airlines began flights from Nepal in December 2007, Cathay Pacific, the parent company, has been operating five flights per week recently.
Junu Maleku, the Nepal head of Cathay Pacific, stated that the additional daily flight is aimed at providing more convenience for travelers coming to Nepal and continuing to other countries via Hong Kong.
During an event to honor outstanding cargo and travel companies, Maleku expressed that the expansion of services was made possible due to the support and cooperation of these companies. Rakesh Raicar, Regional General Manager for South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, announced that Cathay Pacific plans to expand further with new destinations, including a flight from Hong Kong to Dallas starting April 24, 2025.
Siddhartha Shamser Junga Bahadur Rana, Chairman of Amravati Travels, noted that the service expansion would significantly contribute to Nepal’s tourism development. Several cargo and travel companies were also honored at the event.
