Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh Addresses Stakeholders at Tourism Development Interaction Program in Birgunj

Chief Minister of Madhesh Province, Satish Kumar Singh, addressed stakeholders at an interaction and dialogue program organized by the Tourism Development Office on Wednesday in Birgunj. The event aimed to foster discussions on enhancing tourism in the region and addressing key challenges and opportunities.

In his speech, Chief Minister Singh emphasized the significant potential of Madhesh Province in the tourism sector. He highlighted the unique cultural and natural attractions of the region, which, if properly developed and promoted, could attract a substantial number of both domestic and international tourists. Singh stressed the importance of collaborative efforts between the government, local communities, and private sector stakeholders to achieve sustainable tourism growth.

“Our province is rich in cultural heritage and natural beauty, which can serve as major attractions for tourists,” said Chief Minister Singh. “However, to fully realize this potential, we need to address infrastructure development, improve facilities, and ensure the active participation of local communities in tourism activities.”

He further pointed out the need for strategic planning and investment in tourism infrastructure, such as roads, accommodation facilities, and tourist information centers. Singh also called for the promotion of local arts, crafts, and cuisine as part of the tourism experience, which would not only attract tourists but also provide economic benefits to local artisans and businesses.

During the interaction, various stakeholders, including tourism entrepreneurs, local officials, and community leaders, shared their insights and suggestions. Discussions covered topics such as enhancing connectivity to key tourist sites, preserving cultural heritage, and implementing effective marketing strategies to promote Madhesh Province as a prime tourist destination.

Chief Minister Singh assured the stakeholders that the provincial government is committed to supporting tourism development initiatives. He announced plans to allocate resources for tourism infrastructure projects and encouraged private sector investment in the sector. “The government will work tirelessly to create an enabling environment for tourism growth, ensuring that all stakeholders benefit from the opportunities it brings,” he stated.

The event concluded with a renewed commitment from all parties to work together towards making Madhesh Province a leading tourist destination in Nepal. The dialogue underscored the importance of collective action and strategic investment in harnessing the tourism potential of the region.
