Koshi Province Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki expressed confidence that the newly inaugurated Damak Commercial Complex will play a significant role in creating employment opportunities and promoting tourism. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony today, CM Karki emphasized that informal proposals for business operations within the complex have already started, paving the way for employment for hundreds of youths.
“Despite initial misinformation about this complex, its development will provide a fitting response to skeptics. Its operation will not only benefit Damak and Koshi Province but also contribute to the nation’s overall economic development. Therefore, the provincial government has prioritized its successful operation,” said CM Karki.
Former Chief Minister of Koshi Province, Uddhav Thapa, stressed the need to manage the complex effectively to maximize its benefits. He also called for collaborative efforts between the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML-led government to address national economic needs and work in unity.
Damak Mayor Ram Kumar Thapa highlighted that achieving development and prosperity requires coordinated efforts between local, provincial, and federal governments. He emphasized the importance of partnerships to reach these shared goals.
The Damak Commercial Complex is expected to become a hub for economic activity in the region, fostering growth in employment and tourism while strengthening the local and national economy.
