Aiming to strengthen the overall economic development and tourism promotion of Gandaki Province, the Eighth Parbat Festival has been announced in Parbat district. The festival, organized every three years by the Parbat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will be held from Poush 9 to Poush 19 this year.

Celebrating 50 Years of the Chamber
The event carries special significance as it coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Parbat Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Chamber President and Coordinator of the Main Organizing Committee, Thakur B. Paudel, informed during a press conference held this morning that the festival is being hosted under the slogan “Prosperous Parbat, Our Aspiration.”
Paudel highlighted that the long-standing festival aims to bring together local entrepreneurs, farmers, traders, and tourism stakeholders to create new opportunities for investment and collaboration.
A Province-Level Industrial and Trade Fair
This year’s festival is set to be organized as a province-level industrial and trade fair, expected to draw visitors, investors, and exhibitors from across Gandaki Province and beyond. The primary objective of the festival is to promote peace, harmony, and economic vitality by showcasing and supporting the province’s micro, small, domestic, agricultural, forest-based, and livestock-based enterprises. The fair will focus on product exhibition, marketing, and business networking to expand market access for local producers.

Highlighting Local Potential
Organizers believe the festival will play a crucial role in enhancing tourism visibility, encouraging local entrepreneurship, and boosting the rural economy of Parbat district. By bringing together diverse enterprises and cultural attractions under one platform, the event aims to reflect the district’s economic potential and foster wider regional development.
