Electricity services have been extended to Aaldanda, a tourist destination in Annapurna Rural Municipality-8 of Myagdi district, with the expansion of the national power grid to the area. The electricity extension is expected to improve living conditions for local communities while also supporting tourism development in the remote destination.
National Grid Extended to Aaldanda
The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) extended the power transmission line from Ramche to Aaldanda under its Ujyalo Myagdi electrification program. The expansion brings grid electricity to Aaldanda, where the lack of reliable power had previously limited local development and tourism-related activities.
Electricity to Reach More Remote Settlements
According to Satyanarayan Gami, Chief of the Nepal Electricity Authority’s Myagdi Distribution Centre, electricity will soon be extended to several other settlements that currently remain without access to the national grid. The areas scheduled for electricity expansion include Moharedanda, Phulbari, Dandakharaka and Kalibaraha. The NEA has said the expansion will help connect more communities to reliable electricity services and support development in remote parts of the district.
Supporting Tourism Development
Moharedanda, Phulbari, Dandakharaka, Kalibaraha and the Annapurna-Dhaulagiri area are recognized as tourism destinations in Myagdi. Extending electricity to these locations could contribute to improving the overall visitor experience and creating better conditions for tourism-related businesses.
