Emirates is set to give travelers between Mauritius and Dubai a more comfortable way to fly with the introduction of its highly acclaimed Premium Economy cabin on two of its three daily services from September 1, 2026. The upgrade will provide Mauritian travelers with greater choice and an enhanced onboard experience when flying to Dubai and connecting onward to destinations across Emirates’ global network. The new service will operate on both the airline’s iconic Airbus A380 and a retrofitted Boeing 777, giving passengers more flexibility in choosing their preferred cabin while strengthening Emirates’ commitment to Mauritius and its important travel and tourism market.
Two Daily Flights To Offer A More Premium Experience
Premium Economy will be introduced on EK703/704, operated by an Airbus A380, and EK709/710, operated by a retrofitted Boeing 777. Both aircraft will feature three-class cabin configurations, expanding the range of options available to travelers flying between Mauritius and Dubai. The A380 operating EK703/704 will offer 56 Premium Economy seats, alongside 76 Business Class and 437 Economy Class seats. The Boeing 777 operating EK709/710 will feature 24 Premium Economy seats, together with 38 Business Class and 214 Economy Class seats, giving passengers additional flexibility when selecting a cabin based on their comfort preferences and travel needs.
Oomar Ramtoola, Emirates’ Manager for the Indian Ocean Islands, said the introduction of Premium Economy demonstrates the airline’s continued commitment to its Mauritian customers and the country’s travel and tourism industry. He noted that the cabin provides an attractive option for travelers seeking greater comfort and privacy, particularly on longer journeys. The expansion also reflects Emirates’ broader rollout of Premium Economy across its network, allowing customers traveling from Mauritius to enjoy the upgraded cabin not only when flying to Dubai but also when connecting onward to 70 destinations across Europe, Asia and the Americas.
More Space, Comfort And Style At 30,000 Feet
Emirates Premium Economy has been designed for travelers who want additional space and a more elevated inflight experience without moving to Business Class. Each 19.5-inch seat offers generous legroom and recline, along with a six-way adjustable headrest and footrest to improve comfort during the flight. Passengers will also have access to in-seat charging points, a wood-finished side cocktail table and a 13.3-inch personal entertainment screen, creating a more spacious and refined environment for relaxing, working or enjoying entertainment throughout the journey.
The enhanced experience continues with dining and onboard amenities designed specifically for Premium Economy passengers. Travelers will receive a welcome drink served in fine glassware, followed by meals prepared using seasonal ingredients and presented on Royal Doulton china. An extended beverage selection will complement the dining service, while sustainable amenity kits, blankets and generously sized pillows will provide additional comfort during the flight. Together, these features are designed to give passengers a more distinctive experience from boarding through arrival.
Premium Economy Opens More Options For Mauritius Travelers
The new cabin will also give travelers from Mauritius more opportunities to enjoy Premium Economy throughout an entire journey when connecting through Dubai. The upgraded experience is available on select Bangkok services and all six daily flights to London Heathrow, along with other destinations across Emirates’ network. This broader connectivity gives Mauritian travelers access to an enhanced cabin experience while maintaining the convenience of Dubai as a major international connection point.
Passengers traveling in Premium Economy will also receive additional ground benefits, including priority boarding and access to a dedicated Premium Economy check-in area at Dubai International Airport. These services complement the upgraded onboard experience by providing greater convenience before departure and during the airport journey. For travelers taking longer international trips, the combination of additional seating comfort, enhanced dining, dedicated amenities and improved airport services provides a more complete premium travel experience.
