Street Food Festival with Live Music Kicks Off in Butwal to Celebrate New Year 2082

In celebration of Nepali New Year 2082, a vibrant Street Food Festival featuring live music began on Saturday night in Butwal. Organized by the Restaurant and Bar Association Nepal (REBAN), Rupandehi chapter, the festival is being held under the slogan “Let’s Eat on the Streets, Let’s Celebrate on the Streets.”

REBAN Rupandehi Chairman Prasanna Koirala stated that the event aims to welcome both domestic and international tourists while also revitalizing local restaurant entrepreneurs. He emphasized the need for public support and participation to make the event successful and highlighted that the festival is intended to uplift the morale of Butwal’s hospitality sector.

At the inauguration ceremony, Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City Mayor Khel Raj Pandey expressed that organizing such events in Butwal, a city known as an emerging economic hub, is a positive initiative. He affirmed that the municipality is ready to support and collaborate in any way possible, and he encouraged locals and visitors from Rupandehi to visit the event and enjoy the food and music.

The festival is taking place along Kalikapath Road, stretching from Milan Chowk-Tinkune Chowk to Kalika Nagar Shivalaya Temple. The venue features over 50 stalls offering a wide range of culinary delights. Visitors can enjoy live music, cultural performances, processions, duet folk songs (Dohori), and a variety of traditional and modern food items. The street food festival will run for three days, adding festive flavor and excitement to Butwal’s New Year celebrations.
