Forest Patrol Conducted in Sikles Under ACAP Initiative

A forest patrol was successfully conducted in the Kharka, Tara Hilltop, and surrounding areas under the annual program of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) Sub-Regional Conservation Office, Sikles.

The operation was carried out with the collaborative efforts of the project team, local community committees, and the police. During the patrol, several animal traps were discovered in the area, which were subsequently destroyed to ensure the safety of the local wildlife.

This initiative aligns with ACAP’s ongoing commitment to preserving the biodiversity of the Annapurna Conservation Area and protecting wildlife from illegal activities. Such coordinated efforts underscore the importance of community and institutional partnerships in safeguarding Nepal’s natural heritage.
