Gaurishankar Conservation Area Management Committee Observes Conservation Efforts in Annapurna Conservation Area

On Kartik 23, 2024, members of the Gaurishankar Conservation Area Management Committee, along with members from the Lama Bagar sub-committee, participated in a site visit to the Annapurna Conservation Area. The visit was aimed at observing ongoing conservation activities, sharing knowledge, and learning from the successes of the Annapurna region’s conservation efforts.

During the visit, the group was provided with an in-depth introduction to the Annapurna Conservation Area, highlighting its recent achievements, conservation initiatives, and ongoing efforts to promote sustainable tourism. Discussions also covered key topics such as tourist check-in procedures, record-keeping, and the promotion of trekking routes.

The exchange of experiences emphasized the importance of collaboration and coordination among stakeholders in the region. The participants explored how cooperation with local communities and various organizations has enhanced conservation efforts and contributed to the protection of the area’s unique cultural, religious, and natural heritage.
