To address challenges surrounding the construction of a cable car in the Pathibhara (Mukumlung) area of Taplejung, the government has formed a high-level dialogue team. The initiative aims to engage with stakeholders and resolve existing disputes through negotiations.
According to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs late Sunday night, the government has appointed a talks team under the coordination of Joint Secretary Prem Prasad Bhattarai. The committee includes representatives from the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, and the Ministry of Urban Development.
Home Ministry’s Joint Secretary and Spokesperson, Ram Chandra Tiwari, stated that the government has urged the agitating groups to withdraw their protest programs and engage in dialogue for a constructive resolution. The talks team has been instructed to initiate its activities immediately.
Furthermore, the Home Ministry has requested the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration to take proactive steps in resolving the cable car-related issues effectively. The government remains committed to ensuring the successful completion of the cable car project, which is expected to enhance tourism and accessibility in the Pathibhara region.
