Hotel Association Nepal to Launch Nepal Tourism Promotion Campaign in New Delhi

The Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) is set to organize a major tourism promotion programme in New Delhi starting tomorrow, to attract more Indian visitors to Nepal, particularly during the upcoming summer season. The initiative is designed to bring together key tourism stakeholders from both Nepal and India on a single platform, fostering collaboration and strengthening bilateral tourism ties.

High-Level Nepali Delegation to Participate

A 65-member Nepali hotel delegation, led by HAN President Binayak Shah, will participate in the programme. The delegation includes HAN officials, board members, and representatives from member hotels across Nepal, reflecting a strong and coordinated effort from the country’s hospitality sector. According to HAN, the programme is being organized with the support of the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi and the Nepal Tourism Board.

Focus on Wedding Tourism and Holiday Destinations

The promotional campaign will feature two major thematic events. On April 28, the delegation will participate in a programme titled “Nepal – A Wedding Destination,” aimed at promoting Nepal as a preferred venue for destination weddings.

On April 29, the focus will shift to a broader campaign under the theme “Nepal – Closer Than You Think, Better Than You Imagine,” highlighting Nepal’s appeal as a convenient and attractive holiday destination for Indian travelers. These events are expected to showcase Nepal’s diverse tourism offerings, including cultural experiences, scenic landscapes, and hospitality services.

Business Meetings and Cultural Engagement Planned

During the three-day programme, the Nepali delegation will engage in business-to-business (B2B) meetings with Indian tourism operators, travel agencies, and industry stakeholders. In addition, the delegation will participate in a special event titled “Nepal Tourism Evening,” aimed at strengthening networking opportunities and promoting cultural exchange between the two countries. Officials believe that these interactions will help build long-term partnerships and expand tourism business opportunities.

Special Packages to Target Diverse Indian Market Segments

HAN has announced that member hotels will introduce special promotional packages targeting a wide range of Indian travelers. These include:

  • Family tourists
  • Group travelers
  • Pilgrims
  • Newlyweds and honeymoon couples
  • Corporate clients
  • Adventure and nature enthusiasts

The packages are expected to highlight Nepal’s strengths in nature, culture, adventure tourism, and spiritual experiences.

Opportunity Amid Regional Travel Challenges

The tourism body has expressed optimism that the campaign will attract a significant number of Indian tourists, especially in the current context of rising airfare and travel disruptions in other regions due to the Middle East crisis.

Strengthening Nepal-India Tourism Ties

The New Delhi promotion programme marks a strategic effort by the Hotel Association Nepal to position Nepal as a top choice for Indian tourists. By focusing on targeted marketing, industry collaboration, and customized travel packages, the initiative is expected to contribute to increased tourist inflow and further strengthen tourism cooperation between Nepal and India.
