The Hotels and Tourism Index of the NEPSE recorded a slight decline today, falling by 4.20 points (0.05%) to close at 7,788.08. This comes after a sharper drop of 107.01 points in the previous trading session. The index opened at 7,792.29 during today’s trading session, reached an intraday high of 7,862.74, and dipped to a low of 7,729.93 before settling at the closing level.

NEPSE Benchmark Closes Higher
In contrast, the benchmark index of the NEPSE posted a gain of 8.78 points (0.32%), closing at 2,712.86. This follows a decline of 34.63 points in the previous trading session. The sector opened at 2,701.23, touched an intraday high of 2,726.18, and recorded a low of 2,684.62 during the day.

Turnover and Market Activity
Total market turnover reached Rs. 3.43 Arba, with 7,734,012 shares traded across 335 listed companies through 62,025 transactions. The overall market capitalization stood at Rs. 46.26 Kharba, while the float market capitalization was recorded at Rs. 15.43 Kharba.

While the broader market showed mild recovery, sectoral performance remained mixed, with tourism-related stocks continuing to face pressure despite overall gains in the benchmark index of the NEPSE.
