IHG Hotels & Resorts, a global leader in the hospitality industry, has unveiled plans for a landmark new development in Utah with the signing of a deal for Six Senses Camp Korongo, a luxury desert resort and residential community. Spanning 480 acres near Kanab, the resort is slated to open in 2029 and will feature 41 tented pavilions and 12 exclusive branded residences, blending ultra-luxury experiences with the natural beauty and cultural heritage of southern Utah.
A Desert Oasis of Luxury and Sustainability
Nestled among the region’s signature sculpted rocks and juniper forests, Six Senses Camp Korongo is designed to harmonize with its surroundings. The resort’s architecture and interiors will reflect a thoughtful integration of colors, textures, and materials inspired by the desert landscape, creating a serene and immersive environment for guests.

Visitors can explore ancient trails, hike dramatic canyons, and stargaze under some of the darkest skies in North America. The resort will also feature a Six Senses Spa, offering tailored wellness experiences that align with the brand’s holistic philosophy of physical and mental rejuvenation.
Strategic Location Near Iconic National Parks
The resort’s prime location provides easy access to several renowned national parks, including Zion, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, and Arches, offering guests unparalleled opportunities for outdoor exploration. Six Senses Camp Korongo aims to deliver an intimate connection with nature while maintaining the high standards of luxury and sustainability that define the Six Senses brand.
Growth of IHG’s Luxury Portfolio in the Americas
Jolyon Bulley, Chief Executive Officer, Americas, IHG Hotels & Resorts, emphasized the significance of the project: “Six Senses Camp Korongo blends our brand’s distinctive values with a truly unique location while underscoring our growth plan for the Americas. The resort is part of IHG’s broader luxury and lifestyle expansion across the Americas, complementing upcoming properties such as Six Senses Xala in Mexico, Six Senses Belize, Six Senses RiverStone Estate in Pennsylvania, and Six Senses Telluride in Colorado. Luxury and lifestyle hotels now represent 22% of IHG’s global pipeline, with nearly 300 properties either in operation or planned across the region.
Collaborative Vision and Sustainable Design
Six Senses Camp Korongo is the result of a partnership with Canyon Global Partners, a California-based developer renowned for its connection to the American Southwest. The project’s design, led by Luxury Frontiers, a South African studio, emphasizes sustainability and seamless integration with the surrounding environment.
Homi Vazifdar, Founder of Canyon Global Partners, commented: “Southern Utah’s spectacular topography and tranquility are a perfect match for Six Senses’ approach to wellness and sustainability. This project will set a new standard for ultra-luxury resorts in the region.”
