International Balloon Festival Begins in Pokhara

Pokhara, Nepal’s picturesque tourist hub, has kicked off the International Balloon Festival for the first time, aiming to revive the tourism sector to its pre-pandemic glory. Organized by Balloon Nepal Pvt. Ltd., the nine-day festival is poised to become a major attraction, featuring nearly two dozen hot air balloons soaring over the skies of Pokhara.

The festival brings international flair with participation from countries like the United States, Spain, Lithuania, Thailand, and Vietnam, among others. The event is expected to not only captivate domestic visitors but also draw international tourists, contributing significantly to Nepal’s economy.

During the 40-minute balloon rides, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the snow-capped Annapurna mountain range, Machhapuchhre, Dhaulagiri, and the stunning Pokhara Valley. The festival also includes exciting evening activities such as fireworks displays, balloon races, and camping experiences.

Adding to the excitement, the festival will feature live performances by renowned Nepali artists such as Deepak Bajracharya & The Band, Raju Lama & Mongolian Heart, Alina Chauhan, and Kuma Sagar & Khwappa Band, along with local musical bands from Pokhara.

The event has been managed by Charismatic Digital Solution with promotional support from the Nepal Tourism Board, Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), Pokhara Metropolitan City, and the Pokhara Tourism Board. The Pokhara Tourism Council is a co-organizer of the event.

Actors Rajesh Hamal and Priyanka Karki serve as the festival’s brand ambassadors, enhancing its appeal and outreach.

With its vibrant mix of adventure, culture, and entertainment, the International Balloon Festival promises to be a game-changer for tourism in Pokhara, showcasing Nepal’s natural beauty and cultural heritage to the world.
