The Karnali Festival ‘Kuda Karnalika’ has begun today in Birendranagar, Surkhet, the capital of Karnali Province. The festival will run for three days. The event was inaugurated by Karnali Province Chief Minister Yamlal Kandel at a special program today. The festival, organized by the Riti Foundation, aims to highlight the identity of the Karnali region and explore its potential. This is the sixth edition of the festival.

During the opening ceremony, Chief Minister Kandel, Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Urban Development Gamta Bik, former government secretary Kewal Prasad Bhandari, Executive Director of the Secretariat of the Foreign Employment Board Dr. Dwarika Upreti, and Vice-Chairman of the Karnali Province Planning Commission Suryanath Yogi, among others, emphasized that the festival has helped promote Karnali both nationally and internationally.

On the first day of the festival, political thinker Bishwabhakta Dulal (Ahuti) delivered a lecture on ‘Mantha and Maido’. The organizers reported that the event had a participation of 1,300 people.
