LOD Club, one of Nepal’s premier nightlife destinations, is set to celebrate its seventh anniversary this week with a series of special programs. The club has been preparing various events to mark seven successful years since its establishment, according to Bhupen Kunwar, Director of LOD Club.
“Since its inception, LOD has provided a platform for Nepali artists to showcase their talents,” Kunwar said. “The club has become a place where musical groups and performers can grow and reach wider audiences.”
National and international performances lined up
The anniversary celebrations will feature performances by both national and international artists. Over the years, LOD has hosted a wide range of performers from Nepal and abroad, enhancing the club’s reputation as a cultural hub in addition to being a nightlife venue.
“LOD is not just a nightclub; it is a symbol of Nepali culture, talent, and national pride,” Kunwar added. “Through special programs dedicated to Nepalese traditions and heritage, the club has promoted Nepali identity on a global stage, strengthening the spirit of national unity.”
Nightlife destination in Thamel
LOD has emerged as a major destination for visitors to Thamel, offering both domestic and international tourists a unique nightlife experience. “Anyone visiting Thamel usually makes it a point to visit LOD at least once,” Kunwar noted.

The club has undergone significant renovations, including upgraded interiors, new seating arrangements, and improved lighting systems, enhancing the overall guest experience. Currently, the club accommodates 600 seated guests and 2,000 standing, with more than 150 staff members ensuring smooth operations.
Balancing opportunities and challenges
Kunwar acknowledged that operating a nightlife venue comes with both opportunities and challenges, recalling instances where technical difficulties occasionally affected events. Despite this, LOD continues to prioritize guest safety and quality service. Weekends, particularly Fridays and Saturdays, see the highest influx of visitors, he added.
International recognition and elite clientele
Over the years, LOD has gained a reputation as an elite venue, attracting high-profile personalities such as former King Gyanendra Shah, former Indian Congress President Rahul Gandhi, and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli. The club also regularly hosts international artists from countries like India, Turkey, Germany, and Italy.
Notable performers have included Bollywood singers Neha Kakkar, Lucky Ali, Armaan Malik, and Indian Idol finalist Pawan Deep, as well as international acts like Timmy Trumpet, Stéphan Ben, and Jyotika Tangari. These performances have solidified LOD’s reputation as a platform for world-class music.
Promoting Nepali talent and culture
Kunwar emphasized that LOD continues to provide opportunities for Nepali musicians while promoting cultural awareness. “Through programs dedicated to Nepali music and traditions, the club not only entertains but also strengthens national pride and promotes the country’s rich heritage globally,” he said. As LOD Club prepares to celebrate its seventh year, it reaffirms its role as both a nightlife hub and a platform for artistic growth and cultural promotion.
