Nepal-India-China Expo to Strengthen Tourism Ties in Pokhara

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Nepal Chapter is set to host the Nepal-India-China Expo (NICE) in the tourism capital, Pokhara, from February 24 to 26. In preparation for the event, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed today between PATA Nepal Chapter and Pokhara Tourism Council. Representing the two organizations, PATA Nepal’s Secretary-General Narendra Dev Bhatt and Pokhara Tourism Council President Taranath Pahari signed the agreement.

The expo aims to provide a vital platform for stakeholders to exchange experiences, foster networking, and explore business opportunities. According to the MoU, the event will bring together public and private tourism businesses and stakeholders from Nepal, India, and China. Discussions will focus on establishing partnerships and enhancing collaboration in tourism.

The primary objective of the expo is to promote Nepal’s tourism potential and business opportunities by uniting two of the world’s largest economies and key tourism hubs—India and China. By strengthening tourism and hospitality trade relations among the three nations, the event is expected to create a robust foundation for future growth.

Nepal, strategically located between these two economic giants, is poised to act as a bridge, showcasing its tourism possibilities. While bilateral trade initiatives between these nations are well-established, this tri-national program aims to present new and promising opportunities.

Under the agreement, PATA Nepal Chapter will leverage its network to promote the event through newsletters, direct emails, marketing campaigns, and the official NICE website. Publicity will also be carried out through press releases to national and international media outlets, emphasizing the diverse tourism attractions of Pokhara and Nepal.

Meanwhile, the Pokhara Tourism Council will coordinate with local tourism authorities, stakeholders, sponsors, and partners to ensure the event’s success. The council will also utilize newsletters, social media, and other media platforms for marketing and promotion. Additionally, the council will assist in welcoming guests and representatives at the event.

PATA Nepal Chapter and the Pokhara Tourism Council believe the expo will significantly enhance Pokhara’s status as a tourism hub and boost Nepal’s overall tourism activities. President Pahari expressed confidence that the event would play a pivotal role in advancing tourism in Pokhara and the country as a whole.
