BITM 2025: Nepal to Unveil New Opportunities in Buddhist Tourism

Nepal is set to welcome the 3rd edition of the prestigious Buddhist International Travel Mart-2025 (BITM), which will take place from 23rd to 25th May 2025 (9–11 Jestha 2082). This year’s event will be held across two iconic locations Kathmandu and Lumbini bringing together global leaders in Buddhist tourism.

BITM 2025 aims to elevate Nepal as a central hub for Buddhist pilgrimage tourism. The event is designed to enhance Nepal’s tourism ties with Buddhist-majority countries, fostering stronger cooperation in religious, cultural, and tourism sectors worldwide.

To ensure the successful implementation of this grand event, the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) and the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) have formalized their collaboration. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 4th April 2025 (23rd Chaitra 2081) by NATTA President Mr. Kumar Mani Thapaliya and Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO of NTB.

In an exciting development, Mrs. Jiswan Tuladhar Shrestha, Senior Vice President of NATTA, has been appointed as the Convenor for BITM 2025, taking on a pivotal role in ensuring the success of this international gathering. BITM 2025 promises to showcase Nepal’s rich Buddhist heritage and create new opportunities for cultural and tourism exchange at a global level.
