A new Avalokiteshwar Stupa has been constructed in Bandipur Rural Municipality-4, thanks to the dedicated efforts of resident Ganesh Bahadur Gurung. Gurung, a retired military officer, contributed NPR 1,000,565 to the construction of the stupa, showcasing his commitment to social service.
The stupa, located in the serene Raniwan area of the ward, complements the nearby Shakyamuni Buddha structure. Gurung mentioned that the project was initiated with support from Vietnamese engineers, highlighting international collaboration in its construction.
Chairperson of Bandipur Rural Municipality, Surendra Thapa, expressed gratitude towards Gurung, emphasizing that such initiatives significantly promote tourism in Bandipur. Thapa further stated that the community needs more individuals like Gurung who actively contribute to societal development.
The stupa is expected to become a key attraction, further bolstering Bandipur’s reputation as a premier tourist destination.
