A new camping site has been launched in the Tara Hill Top area, located at the confluence of Madi Municipality-1 and Machhapuchhre Municipality-2 in Kaski, aimed at providing services to tourists. The Tara Hill Top, which is known as the first eco-tourism trail in Nepal, was once a busy spot from 2051 to 2059 BS. However, it had seen a decline in recent years. Now, efforts are underway to reopen and attract tourists again.

On the occasion of the New Year, the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) granted a one-year approval for the camping site management, which is under the joint committee of Madi-1 and Machhapuchhre-2.

The management committee will have to renew the approval annually. Two temporary structures have been built for the camping sites in the Tara Hill Top area under Machhapuchhre-2 and Madi-1. The inauguration of the site was done by key local officials, including the chairpersons of Machhapuchhre-2, Madi-1, and the committee president.

The management committee is required to pay land lease and registration fees to ACAP and the respective local municipalities annually for renewal. A coordination meeting between the two municipalities and ACAP has also been held to further promote tourism in the Tara Hill Top area. The Tara Hill Top can be easily accessed from locations such as Sikles, Parche, Khilang in Madi-1, Chipli in Madi-6, Taprang, and Thakhel in Madi-7.
