Chengdu Launches Thrilling New Charter Flights to Pokhara

Marking 70 years of Nepal-China diplomatic relations, regular commercial charter flights will operate between Chengdu, China, and Pokhara International Airport. Supported by Sichuan Province, Sichuan Airlines will launch its first regular charter flight on Tuesday.

Nepal Tourism Board believes this initiative will enhance air connectivity, boost tourism, promote cultural exchange, and strengthen business cooperation between the two nations. The Pokhara-Chengdu flight will provide affordable air access for travelers from central and western Nepal while offering Chinese tourists an opportunity to explore Pokhara. This air link is expected to support China’s “Visit Nepal 2025” campaign and Nepal’s “Pokhara Tourism Year,” increasing international tourist arrivals.

A Nepali delegation will travel on the inaugural flight for the “Pokhara-Chengdu Flight Promotion & China (Sichuan) Sales Mission 2025.” The team will engage in business meetings with representatives from Chengdu, Luzhou, Leshan, and other Chinese cities.

The Nepal Tourism Board expressed gratitude to Sichuan Airlines, the Sichuan Provincial Government, the Pokhara Tourism Council, and all stakeholders for their support in making this historic initiative a success. The board expects this step to strengthen cultural ties and further establish Nepal as a key international tourism destination.
