Second Momo Festival to Be Held in Nepalgunj to Celebrate New Year 2025

The second edition of the “Momo Festival” will be held at Siddhartha Cottage in Nepalgunj to celebrate the start of the New Year 2025. The event, organized by Siddhartha Hospitality, will take place from Poush 25 to 27. During a press conference, the managing director of Siddhartha Cottage, Padam Neupane, announced the festival dates.

This follows the success of the first Momo Festival, held in 2080 B.S. (2024), where over 40 different types of momo were showcased. Neupane emphasized that the goal of the festival is to introduce various momo dishes to people across the country.

The three-day event will feature cultural performances by different artists each day. On the first day, local artists will perform, with a dance presentation led by Mohini Poudel’s team. The second day will include a momo-making and cooking competition, accompanied by a live performance by Nepalgunj’s ‘Live Band The Samay Band.’

Participants in the momo competition can register for free at Siddhartha Cottage’s reception in Nepalgunj. The final day will feature a live duet performance by national artist Pashupati Sharma, along with local artists, and a community momo-cooking competition.

Badri Koirala, the head trainer at Siddhartha Hotel Nepalgunj, stated that the festival aims to familiarize people across the country with different momo varieties, with the ultimate goal of raising awareness about the diverse momo dishes.
