The Shankarnagar Banbihar and Research Center (Banbatika) located in Tilottama–2 has witnessed a massive surge in internal and external tourist footfall on the occasion of New Year 2082. Known as one of Nepal’s top 100 tourist destinations, the Banbatika has recently seen growing popularity due to the addition of exciting new attractions.
According to the president of the Banbatika, Khimlal Pandey, recent installations such as The Thrill Adventure’s Sky Cycling, Zipline, Giant Swing, children’s park, musical fountain, peaceful scenic landscapes, natural greenery, picnic spots, and wide open areas have significantly boosted the site’s appeal among visitors.

On the day of New Year 2082 alone, more than 19,000 domestic tourists visited the area, making it one of the most vibrant spots for celebration in the region. Over 30 picnic stalls were booked for the occasion, indicating its growing reputation as a recreational and leisure hub.
The entrance fee to the Banbatika is set at Rs. 50, while children under 10 years of age, senior citizens, and individuals with disabilities are granted free entry, as informed by the treasurer, Mr. Maniram Bhattarai. The continuous development and visitor-friendly initiatives have made Shankarnagar Banbatika a must-visit destination, especially during festivals and holidays.
