Ghorepani, a scenic village located in Annapurna Rural Municipality-6, witnessed snowfall this afternoon. Situated at an altitude of 2,800 meters above sea level, Ghorepani is a key destination on the renowned Annapurna Circuit Trek, which spans the districts of Myagdi, Mustang, Manang, Lamjung, and Kaski in Gandaki Province.
Bishan Rana, a local hotel entrepreneur, confirmed this season’s first snowfall in the area. “It snowed for about an hour this afternoon. Snow has accumulated in damp areas and on the hills,” he remarked. Following the snowfall, temperatures have dropped significantly, affecting daily life. Residents have confined themselves indoors, seeking warmth by their fires.

The snowfall coincided with light rainfall in Myagdi, marking the region’s first precipitation in nearly three months. Although the rain provided slight relief for winter crops, agricultural technicians and farmers noted that it remains insufficient for irrigation needs.
Ghorepani’s snowfall not only underscores the area’s breathtaking beauty but also serves as a reminder of its allure as a must-visit trekking destination in Nepal. Local tourism operators anticipate that the snowfall will attract more visitors, boosting the area’s tourism potential.
